March 12, 2007 ... Another inconvenient truth.

'The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.' Propaganda by Edward Bernays.

'It is hard to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it.' You don't say, Al :-) As the Channel 4 (UK) documentary 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' clearly documented, Al Gore and his associates in the IPCC, etc., have done a brilliant job in handing politicians and their sidekicks the means to empower government in a way not known since the time of the Nazi propaganda machine in the 1930s. But instead of being a comparatively localised phenomenon, this propaganda has reached the global dimensions of the underlying global warming threat. But this threat is not a consequence of carbon dioxide emissions by man. This is because man produces only a small amount of carbon dioxide in comparison to that produced by nature including other green-house warming gasses. And, when objectively analysed, the historical record clearly shows that carbon dioxide levels lag temperature rise by up to 800 years.

Further analysis of the historical record clearly shows that solar activity is the vastly predominant influence on climate, and there isn't anything we can do about the sun. But the carbon dioxide emissions created by man can be quantified, and, like anything else that can be quantified and subsequently misrepresented, the possibility exists to levy taxes and empower government by way of propaganda.

Whilst this will have negative consequences for the long term viability of western culture which has too many other threats to face at the present time, we will not be as negatively impacted as the people in the developing world. These people will be further disenfranchised with respect to the technologies that would extend their lives and enable them to prosper.

In one African village, for example, the care-centre is limited to choosing between running the vaccine refrigerator or running one low-energy light bulb from a car battery fed by a single solar panel fitted to a wriggly-tin roof. The more sensible technology would be a small 10.0 Kilowatt diesel or petrol generator to power the whole village. But this would conflict with any foreign aid sanctioned by the likes of Al Gore and his associates and their propaganda. And those without recourse to the absurdly expensive and ineffective technology deemed fit and proper, are reduced to a shortened lifespan as they choke on the carcinogen and infection laden smoke from burning kindling and dried cow-dung in a mud-hut without a chimney. They cannot even have a chimney for fear of visibly polluting the atmosphere!

To say that Al Gore and his associates are murderers would not at all be too strong a statement. For that is what they are. Unfortunately, the ICC is not yet sanctioned to try such creatures on charges of genocide.
