Jack Welch (b. 1935) Retired CEO of GE.

Jack Welch turned the General Electric into a dynamic and growing company admired by many during his twenty years of leadership. He increased its value from $13 billion to hundreds of billions of dollars.

He was born in Salem Massachusetts USA in 1935. He gained a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. After that, an M.S. and Ph.D at the University of Illinois.

In 1960 he joined General Electric as a Chemical engineer where he was to become the Chairman and CEO, becoming its eighth, and most youthful.

Jack Welch retired from General Electric in 2001, and has published books about his life in business, etc.

Martha Stewart was born August 3, 1941, New Jersey, U.S.A., to a Polish family with a strong work ethic. Martha's mother taught her how to cook, and she also learned canning and preserving, Martha's father shared his gardening skills with her.

In her high school years, she took modelling jobs in New York. She graduated high school and attended Barnard College, NYC. At one time, Martha worked as a stockbroker, which gave her an invaluable insight into the world of business.

Her book ‘Entertaining’ was published in 1982. She appeared on television, to a mixed reception, as she rapidly achieved ‘lifestyle expert/guru’ status.

In 1997 Martha created "Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia” so that she would have better control of her many interests.

U.S. District Judge, John E. Jones, was born 1955, Pottsville, Pennsylvania. He earned his B.A. degree from Dickinson College, and a law degree from Dickinson School of Law.

He clerked for Guy A. Bowe, and subsequently joined law firm: Dolbin & Cori. After becoming a partner, the firm became Dolbin, Cori & Jones.

By 1986, he started the private practice: John Jones & Associates, and was a trial lawyer for a number of years. Judge John E. Jones is of Welsh descent. He is married to Beth Ann. They have two children: Meghan, and John. He has a share in a family business, which other family members run.

He was appointed by President George W. Bush as federal judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in February 2002, and was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 30, 2002.

His most notable judgment for 2005 was the barring of teaching Intelligent Design in Biology classes, at a school in Dover, PA, and judging Intelligent Design to be a variation on creationism, and not a science.
