June 01, 2007 ... Victory is in sight.

In recent days a call by European academics to boycott Israeli academics has resulted in a vote to that effect. This ridiculous stance is supposed to be consistent with helping Palestinians in their struggle against the evils of Israeli policies: The right to a sovereign state, freedom from terrorism, etc.

Whilst the disastrous situation of the Palestinians is primarily and persistently self-inflicted, there is the equally problematic issue of their situation being hugely bolstered by a preponderance of European intellectuals and politicians from a socialist-cum-fascist perspective, in the vanguard of the boycott action. With support and guidance such as this, the Palestinians can expect to enjoy decades of misery.

This need not be the case given a proactive course of action by Israel in consort with willing Palestinians who desire a better future.

The first course of action must be to decisively deal with Hamas and other radical Islamists in Gaza. This can best be accomplished by using Private Military Contractors (PMCs) to supply the experienced ground-assault personnel, with Israel responsible for medical-support, air-support, and intelligence coordination.

Ehuds:
Only their moms can tell them apart.

This will avoid having to put young and inexperienced Israeli conscripts, and a limited number of full-time personnel in harm's way, and will result in the Israeli government being hugely less vulnerable to a lack of public confidence in the government over Israeli casualties. In addition, it will be much less expensive and much more productive than a reliance on a scarcity of F-16s to deal with RPG and Kalashnikov wielding terrorists from Hamas, etc.

The second course of action must be to establish an education for Palestinians which focuses on western concepts of rights: The right to life. The right to property. Only then is it most probable that Palestinians can achieve better than what they are suffering at present. And a successful Palestinian outcome along these lines will also undermine the European intellectuals and politicians who are boycotting Israel and its premier-league academics.

+-------------------------------------------+

P. S. At this critical and delicate time in Israeli politics, the best course of action--assuming that Ehud Barak is elected the leader of the Labour party--would be for Ehud Olmert to remain as Prime Minister and Ehud Barak to take over the defence minister's role. Ehud Barak may be a changed man, but the Israeli electorate are not, and will simply elect another weak government not dissimilar to the one Ehud Bark was forced to make some less than stellar alliances to maintain. Thus, it is best to consolidate a multiplicity of intellect and experience until such times as the aforementioned ideas can establish the necessary calm for a more stable government to be elected and succeed.
