January 25, 2008 ... 42 Days.

"Muslim groups said that pre-charge detention may risk information being forthcoming from members of the community in the future."

Like their Omagh Bomb, Roman Catholic counterparts who were killed by the actions of a predominantly Roman Catholic IRA membership, British Muslims must understand that the Muslim radicals who are determinedly terrorising Great Britain and other EU member states do not at all discriminate when it comes to the victims of their terror plots and campaigns. For example, as a consequence of the London 7/7 bombings, many Muslims died by way of the actions of Muslims. Therefore, for Muslims to confront legislation designed to counter such terrorism as being too directed towards non-terrorist Muslims, by threatening to withhold information which could save their lives, is self-defeating and not in their self-interest. Nor is it in anyone's self-interest to become a hostage to terrorism by way of the proposed 42-day pre-charge legislation designed to counter Muslim radical terrorism because of the complications in gathering evidence suitable for prosecution from computer systems and/or difficult to infiltrate terrorist cells, etc. Nor is it in anyone's self-interest to become hostage to the law, by way of terrorism.

Many of these Muslim terrorists are not even EU citizens, so they must be immediately deported without concern for their well-being. Objecting lawyers can go with them, so as to provide the level of care demanded by themselves and their paying clients. The hard drives can stay and be examined over years, if need be, without any 42-day limit, or imperilment to the accused.

The additional complication of Muslims who are also British-cum-EU citizens because of birth (jus soli), can simply be circumvented by stripping them of their citizenship, and expatriating them to Muslim states, whether or not such Muslim states wish to have them. This has nothing to do with race, but has everything to do with treating the enemy as the enemy, and directing them to a place where they can do the least harm to those of their former place of residence without imperilling others', including mainstream Muslims' right, to life and right to property.

As it is, the proposed 42-day legislation is yet another nail in the coffin of freedom in Great Britain and the EU. This is achieving the terrorists' goals for them, with the power of the EU member states to back it up.

It was suggested by the Conservatives that we had '12- days' to save the Pound. Perhaps we would be better off spending 42-days figuring out how to confront our enemies to save Great Britain including our EU counterparts from themselves, without having to resort to rhetoric which can be more provocative than productive, even if it is from a comparatively sound, moral base.
